When we got to Columbus and the New World Inn most everything was set up for us and we could get busy with our work of putting things out. You listen to what we need and make sure it is like what we wanted it to be. When I asked about the podium and mic and then the screen for the Friday noon luncheon it was done and there for us to use. Your staff is always very helpful and does a wonderful job to please us. The food was outstanding for each meal and served hot. We chose our menus but it was good food and we had a lot of comments on how good it was. I liked that we had the same menu as the men. It worked very well to serve us both at the same time. We were the lucky ones this year and had the suite. It was so nice to have it. I was a guest at the New World Inn & Conference Center this past weekend when I attended the American Council of the Blind of Nebraska (ACBN) state convention. Rarely in my 46 year life have I been treated so well. Everyone I encountered was friendly and eager to assist me. Prior to losing my vision, I was a project engineer that traveled extensively and frequently stayed in motels. Now that I am blind, being away from home is dufficult and stressful. Your staff's hospitality helped me enjoy the convention. The ACBN convention planners and your staff did a great job organizing the event. The facility was well suited for our group's registration, lodging, large group meeting, dining and entertainment needs. The kindness of your people, together and their availability and responsiveness to accomodate my needs, helped make the weekend special. While I can only speak for myself, I think my friends were pleased as well. I would highly recommend your facility and services to other travelers, groups, and businesses. You can use my name and this letter as a reference if you so desire. Please extend my appreciation to everyone that helped make my weekend so nice. [] Letter to another city's convention bureau...
"... we chose from Lincoln, Hastings, York, and Columbus, or the New World Inn, which is where we just left. After considering the bids, proposals and offers, we are returning to Columbus as the hotel staff was exceptional, the facilities exceeded oue expectations and the food exquisite. Besides, the group sales contact, which according to the general manager, "is the best we've got," gave of her Saturday to spend time with the group proposing the contract for next year, not to mention assisted with the check-in process guiding folks to their room and pointing out the room's layout. Being in the hotel business as I have for 18 years, while it comes down to the almighty $, sometimes one needs to take into account the personalized service, friendliness and commitment the New World Inn displayed this past weekend. Having said all of that, I feel good about the choice the convention made and would continue to return to Columbus year in and year out, not only because of the reasons stated above, but to also visit new found friends made over the past year in the coordination of the convention process."

[] unsolicited letter to another organization from one that just used the facilities...
"Let me preface my remarks by stating I've been in the hospitality industry for 18 years, specifically the hotel industry. Working for the call center, in Omaha, of an upscale chain, I understand and recognize the importance of quality customer service, for it is customer service, professionalism and attention to detail that makes, or breaks, a hotel stay. In my 18 years of being associated with the American Council of the Blind of Nebraska, and one time convention coordinator by virtue of being the president, our organization has never experienced the readiness and willingness of hotel staff to take whatever steps are necessary to ensure the success of a convention of our kind. When I first learned, at the beginning of the year, my initial contacts had left, I dreaded the thought of re-introducing myself and our group to the new contacts. Even though we had signed contract and terms and conditions were never in doubt, Just the thought of a re-explaination of our needs didn't set well with me. Being accidentally transferred into the voice mail of the general manager, I left my call back information and, resulting from my work schedule, within a week we had connected only to discover we both, at one time worked for the same hotel chain. And having felt better about things and meeting in early February with the staff, any apprehension I had about our convention using the hotel facilities were immediately dismissed. I can honestly say our convention assembled enjyed all ascpects of the hotel, including the meeting space, our hospitality room, the food and beverage service and the jovial attitude of the entire staff from the sales department on down to the bartender, Bob. I would highly recommend the New World Inn & Conference Center to anyone considering visiting Columbus on business, leisure or group/convention travel. And to illustrate the point, our group is doing something never before done in our 31-year history .... returning to the same location for our 2008 convention the third weekend in April. Our membership, myself included, has made friends with each member of the hotel staff and is anxiously awaiting to return to see how everyone has been since our recent visit. With your permission, as soon as I receive a copy, I will be forwarding, an unsolicited copy of two letters of appreciation from one of our members as well as our corresponding secretary. It is hoped that you do consider, strongly, taking your group tot the New World Inn & Conference Center. And while I'm not on staff, but know something about the hospitality industry, your satisfaction, without question, will be guarenteed. The Flat Iron Steak, served Thursday evening, Feb 26, received the most favorable comments. You were absolutely right about that menu item. Everyone loved it, AND the apple dumpling that was served for dessert! Thanks for all you and your staff did to assure a professional convention experience for our group. You both worke so hard in assuring the success of our convention and your efforts are certainly recognized and appreciated. If it's in your power, you deliver whatever we need with a smile!
